Ray Wager
I moved to the Eden Valley after retiring from a career as a solicitor in local government. I have always enjoyed painting and have been able to spend more time in retirement. I am particularly drawn to landscape painting, mostly using acrylic paints but sometimes oils or watercolours and sometimes ringing the changes with pastels or pencils. I have exhibited with Penrith Art Club and the Culgaith Art Group – it is gratifying when someone likes your work enough to buy it!

'Rydal in Autumn'
Acrylics - 39x49cm framed £120 Many of my paintings are landscapes inspired by the Lake District or Eden Valley. In 'Rydal in Autumn' I aimed to capture the warm colours of autumn and the serenity of Rydal Water. |
'Cottages at Caldbeck'
Charcoal - 44x54cm framed £60 I also enjoy pastels, charcoal and pencil. 'Cottages at Caldbeck' is rendered in charcoal – black and white is often more expressive than colour! |
