Penrith Art Club currently has 140 members
Penrith Art Club started in 1960 when art teacher Eve Robson discussed forming an Art Club with her students.
Then the subscription was 5/-, with 2/6 for students and children. Eve was the art teacher at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, and many of our current members remember having been taught by her. The objective of the club was to meet for practical painting, with other interested leisure painters. |
The first exhibition staged by the club was in April 1962 at the Town Hall Since then the Penrith Art Club has held their Exhibition annually, most recently at The Parish Centre. However, due to the corona virus limiting all our activities, the 2020 exhibition will be held virtually, with the establishment of this new website, so the public can view members current work in the gallery online.
