Jamie Oldham
This month's club night will feature Jamie Oldham taking us through a demonstration and talk on 'Abstracting the Landscape' in acrylics. Jamie will be bringing a range of paintings to illustrate his style and will have prints and cards available to buy (please bring cash to purchase).
Jamie is a regular at the Plein Air sessions and will also be tutor at the PAC workshop on 18th October 10 am to 3.45pm at Newbiggin Village Hall (west of Penrith off A66). - full details on our website.
Jamie has painted all his life. He holds a degree in Fine Art from Bath University and is a member of the Lake Artists Society. He grew up in Cumbria under the Howgill Fells and later moved to Bath to study Fine Art. After graduation he was selected for exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London, winning Young Artist competitions with the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He is now living close to the Solway coast which features in his work regularly. Currently he’s exhibiting work in galleries in both Cumbria and London as well as teaching where he aims to encourage others to take up, or return to, their creativity.
