Helen Clark
Helen comes from several generations of people who like to dabble with art whether it be using paint, collage or some form of sculpture. Having done nothing more than watercolour and drawing for many years (her sister is a professional artist and didn’t want to compare her own efforts with hers). she decided she needed. After joining Penrith Art Club, Helen heard about the Sustained Artists at Tirril and has been painting, trying different media for a few years now. |

Painting for Helen is rather a journey to take a subject and develop ideas and thoughts that occur as she paints, draw or both, doing her best to interpret what I see and feel. This means there is always room to do another, try new views and angles. For instance 'The Waterfall' picture works well either way up, Helen can change it by just turning it through 90 degrees. At the time she was playing with a palet knife. Thick sweeps of paint seemed to work well. |

Roofs of all shapes and sizes fascinate me, so I experimented. This is one of the results.

I saw a hot air balloon and thought that looks interesting, found a friend with pictures of a hot air balloon. Took the shapes, fire, air and played with the ideas they produced. I may well do another, this is mark 2 so far.

Spotted the original picture on pinterest, a derelict wall where the paint had fallen in piles on the ground. This is my version.

Arches are something else I find irresistible. This started life as trees forming a church, then it moved on.
