Caroline Davies

Living in the Eden Valley Caroline takes inspiration from the surrounding countryside. Sketching regularly all year round, cycling (electrically assisted 👍) to extend places to visit. Caroline's other art activities include a daily visual diary and life painting sessions, sadly missed this past year. Caroline's preferred media are charcoal, neocolor for sketching and oil paint and oil pastels for painting.
The approach Caroline has to art is irreverent, drawings and paintings are here for immediate enjoyment, for rotation, for recycling and certainly not to be preserved in aspic. As artists Caroline states 'we must attract attention in lives where multitudes of images persistently impinge on us daily'.

Field Tree
Having seen this spot with a field and trees I went back to make stud-ies, the morning sunlight was an extra bonus

Morland Beck
For this piece I wanted to focus away from trees, my go to subject, I aimed to capture the beck, rill and stones and walls. £175 - 64 x 66 cm Mixed media - oil, oil pastel, charcoal

Eycott Outcrop
Eycott has been an oasis for making outside studies this past year. This is my 3rd or 4th attempt to present some of the feeling of the re-serve in paint

Pennines
The Pennines dominate the east fell side sometimes there are expan-sive still almost silent views with evidence a little human activity on the landscape.
