ABOUT

The Penrith Art Club began in 1960 when the idea of forming a club was discussed by art teacher Eve Robson and her students at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.
Many of our current members fondly remember being taught by Eve.
The Club's initial objective was simple: to provide a space for practical painting where interested leisure painters could meet.

1960 Club officially founded. Initial subscription was 5/- (2/6 for students).
1962 Staged our first annual exhibition at the Penrith Town Hall.
Today We host our annual exhibition at The Parish Centre (or virtually, as established during the 2020 pandemic).
We are proud to have over 100 members, and our door is always open to new faces and fresh perspectives.
